Privacy Policy
1. Overview
ScrapChain ("we") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
2. Data we collect
Account data (name, phone, email, role, business details), location when you grant permission, inventory and transaction records, chat messages, device tokens for notifications, and usage analytics to improve the service.
3. How we use data
To operate the marketplace, verify identity, send OTP and transactional SMS, match nearby inventory, calculate ratings, provide support, and comply with law.
4. Sharing
We share data with other users as needed to complete trades (e.g. contact details for pickups). We use infrastructure providers (hosting, SMS, payments) under contract. We do not sell personal data.
5. Storage & security
Data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL + Storage) with row-level security and encrypted transport. Profile photos are stored in the profile-images bucket.
6. Your choices
You may update profile information in the app. You can request account deletion in Settings → Danger zone (or see Delete your account). After a 7-day grace period, personal data is permanently removed. Transaction and trade records are anonymized and retained only as required for legal, tax, and regulatory compliance. Logging in again during the grace period cancels the deletion request.
7. Cookies & web
The web app uses session cookies and local storage for authentication. Third-party maps and ads may set their own cookies per their policies.
